Thank you for booking with Pfahler Photography! Heading to a photoshoot can feel a little overwhelming at times, and often comes with a lot of questions. I have put together this quick guide to help you and your family get started for a fun and successful shoot.
What to wear
You should consider wearing an outfit without overly busy patterns or large logos. These can be distracting and take away from the overall image. Coordinating outfits is also a wise choice, although not everyone needs to match. Just use your best judgement to decide what colors might look good together. For example, it might look a little strange if the whole family were wearing blue and cream, and you chose neon green. If you would like some advice on your clothing options, feel free to contact me! I am always more than happy to help.
How to prepare
If there are young children in the session, you should make sure they are well fed and well rested beforehand (you may want to consider rearranging naptime that day if needed). Meltdowns happen, and if we cannot finish the session, I will happily work with you to reschedule. Please keep in mind that your pockets should be empty! I will do my best to remind you, but at the end of the day, it is your responsibility to make sure you don’t have over-stuffed pockets. No cells phones/wallets/etc should be visible. Lastly, if you are bringing a pet to the photoshoot, please make sure they have been well-exercised beforehand, and bringing a bag of their favorite and/or toy so I can get their attention (and so they can be rewarded for being such a good doggo!).
What to expect
It is my goal to help you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. I will give you poses and prompts to follow, and may even bring a chair or a quilt as props. I will suggest a location or two for the shoot, but you are always more than welcome to suggest a location yourself.
Final payment
I require 50% of the total payment to book the session, and I require the remaining 50% by the end of the session. If I do not have the full payment by the end of the session, I will not begin editing nor uploading the photos until the full amount has been received.

After the shoot
Your photos will be delivered via an online gallery, unless otherwise agreed upon. You will have more than the stated amount of photos, that way you may pick the ones you like the best for downloading. If you are interested in purchasing extra photos or the entire gallery, please check your contract for the prices. The online gallery also includes options for purchasing physical prints as well.
